Master of Commerce (Advanced Accounting) (M.Com)

The University of Mumbai offers Masters of Commerce as a natural extension of the undergraduate course in Commerce i.e. B.Com. The most common specialization are in Advance Accountancy, till very recently the Masters programme was offered by the University in its department and Institute of Distance Education. It is only in the last few years that the University permitted its affiliated colleges to offer this program at the college level. The course aims at providing specialization to the students in the field of Accountancy. The course contents are designed keeping in view that the course is a natural of the undergraduate course. The syllabus takes care of the requirement of the industry as well as the academia.

Objectives

  • To equip and train our post graduate students to accept the challenges of 21st Century
  • To Study and analyze the new industrial and commercial culture
  • To make aware the students for acquiring the knowledge of specialized subjects.
  • To understand and measure current events, developing independent logical thinking, train towards personality development
  • To equip the students for seeking suitable employment and entrepreneurship ability
  • To impart knowledge and develop understanding of research methodology and its application
  • To study methods of Data Collection and its interpretations to develop communication and analytical
  • Skills in generalization of things, concepts and symbols used in business.

Duration of the Course: The Course shall be a full time course. The duration of the course shall be four semesters spread over two years.

Number of Students: A batch shall consist of not more than 60 students.
